- Back when it was illegal to use SSN for any type of identity purpose we were protected from most types of identity theft. But the banking industry wanted to have BIGGER banks and not have to be chartered in each state individually.

- While I was not forced to buy property and invest in real estate by realtors I was using the information relied on by all our financial institutions, including the Federal Reserve. That the information was so far off contributed to the rosy picture that fueled the bonfire of our vanities.

- Not a bad article....but that closing comment about the protests being anti-capitalist??? With the lack of vocabulary of so many folks I can understand such a comment but would expect better from a reporter....but they aren't really up to the caliber of my journalism students from the 70's and 80's.
